BBC director general Tim Davie and CEO of News Deborah Turness have resigned, the BBC has reported.

The pair have stood down from the broadcaster amid criticism that a Panorama documentary misled viewers by editing a speech by US President Donald Trump.

It comes after The Telegraph reported that a memo by Michael Prescott, a former external adviser to the BBC’s editorial standards committee, raised concerns in the summer.
