WASHINGTON — Video obtained by WUSA9 appears to show D.C. police officers stopping a group of teenagers from leaving the Navy Yard Metro station on Halloween night — the same evening large groups of teens clashed with National Guard troops in the area.

The footage, recorded by D.C. resident Merawi Gerima, shows officers appearing to prevent certain teens from taking the escalator out of the station. Gerima says the officers were only stopping Black teens.

“What we saw, what you see in the video is MPD essentially keeping Black kids from coming up the station — and only Black kids,” Gerima said.

In the video, voices can be heard questioning police.

“Why y’all letting certain people go up and other people can’t go up?” one teen asks.

“I’m trying to go home, but he said we can’t go up,
