Special to The Desert Sun
It's funny how certain things in life go full circle. Take something as banal as, say, windows. The first windows were little more than simple square or rectangular holes cut into the sides of early dwellings. Later on, they became classical in design with attention paid to just the right proportion and ornamentation. Still later, there were baroque windows with all kinds of ornate trimmings. Now it seems we're going back to the basics: simple unadorned openings designed to let in light and allow those inside a glimpse of the outdoors.
