GREGG COUNTY, Texas — FM 3053 in the Kilgore area has reopened after a 10-acre pasture fire was contained Sunday afternoon.
According to Sabine Fire and Rescue, there will be heavy smoke in the area overnight due to the large quantity of hay bales burning.
“We advise that anyone burning outside have a way to extinguish their fire as the fire risk is very high over the next several days with increased winds and low humidity,” Sabine Fire and Rescue said.
The road was previously closed as firefighters responded but it has since reopened, the Kilgore Fire Department said.
