ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. —

Allegheny County is getting ready as the forecast calls for the first snowfall of the season, which is expected to come through starting Sunday night.

In a release from the Allegheny County Department of Public Works, officials said about an inch of snow is expected to fall Sunday night and into Monday. Although this is the case, they said pavement temperatures are around 50 degrees, leaving a slim chance for large accumulation onto roads. Advertisement

Officials said they do expect there to be periodic snow showers Monday afternoon through Tuesday, amounting to another possible 1-2 inches, with accumulation on the road unclear.

They said that as snow begins to fall Sunday, 17 salt trucks with plows will be deployed.
