LANDOVER, Md. (WILX) - Detroit currently holds a 25-10 lead at halftime.
The Lions forced the Commanders to punt on their first drive. Detroit got on the board first when Jared Goff hit Jahmyr Gibbs for a 14-yard touchdown reception to give the Lions a 7-0 lead.
Washington cut Detroit’s lead to 7-3 after making a field goal. The Lions then scored again on their next drive with Goff finding Amon-Ra St. Brown for a 9-yard touchdown reception to make it a 14-3 Detroit lead.
Washington punted on its first drive of the second quarter, and Detroit found the end zone again on a Gibbs 13-yard rushing score. Then David Montgomery ran in the two-point conversion to make it 22-3.
The Commanders answered back, though, with a Chris Rodriguez touchdown run from a yard out to make it 22-10 Detroit.
