LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Lansing officials are activating the city’s Code Blue extreme weather plan.
Code Blue is in effect Sunday night until 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11. Overnight temperatures are expected to plunge into the low 20s and continue into the late morning hours. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Clinton and Gratiot Counties.
The Code Blue plan enables local shelters to operate additional hours and temporarily increase capacity when possible.
The Lansing Board of Water & Light does not do electric shut-offs due to non-pay when the City of Lansing declares a Code Red or Code Blue plan. More information about the BWL’s policy can be found on the utility’s website .
