DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) -- The Decatur Fire Department is investigating after a vacant house caught fire over the weekend.

Firefighters responded to a home near North Dunham and West Cerro Gordo Streets around 11 a.m. on Sunday.

When the first engine arrived, firefighters found a vacant single-story home with fire showing from the front windows. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

After searching, crews confirmed that no one was inside the home. Fire officials added that no injuries were reported. Now, the Decatur Fire Department’s Investigation Bureau is working to figure out how the fire started.

The fire department said Central Illinois Regional Dispatch Center, Ameren and Abbott EMS assisted in the response.
