The air quality in Delhi-NCR remained in the 'very poor' category, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) at 346 in the national capital on Monday (November 10). A thick layer of toxic smog engulfed Delhi and nearby regions.
The air quality in areas around Akshardham, AIIMS, and Safdarjung Hospital, Anand Vihar, Tilak Marg, India Gate, and Kartavya Path was in the 'very poor' category as the AQI was over 350, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
A local at Tilak Marg, Prakriti Tripathi, told ANI, "There is an irritation in the eyes and throat. People with breathing problems, such as asthma, face greater difficulties. We came here to study. Our medicine expenses have increased."
Water was sprinkled with the NDMC's help to mitigate pollution in the area around Lodhi Road.
