A rare pangolin was spotted in a plantation in the Taridottu area of Balanja village in Belthangady taluk, Dakshina Kannada district.
The animal was seen roaming in the plantation near the house of Harish Rai of Taridottu. Locals informed the Forest Department about the sighting. Acting on the information, a team led by Venoor Range Forest Officer Bharat U.G. reached the spot and successfully trapped the pangolin.
The team later released the rare animal safely back into the forest. Local residents assisted the forest officials and staff during the operation.
