The costume an Adelaide high school teacher was wearing that got him kicked off campus has been revealed.

Guy Harrison, a Design and Technology coordinator at Urrbrae Agricultural High School, dressed up as the slain American podcaster Charlie Kirk, with a bloodied shirt and a small fake bullet wound , for a Halloween dress-up day on October 31.

Harrison remains on leave, according to his email, however told 7NEWS.com.au his costume was not as sinister as first said.

“I believe I have a more nuanced version than has been reported, I am unable to comment at this time,” he said.

Principal Todd George confirmed Harrison had been “removed from campus” pending an investigation, calling the costume “completely unacceptable” in a letter to parents.
