A man has been assaulted and had his car windows smashed with a pole during a wild road rage blow-up in morning traffic, authorities allege.
Police have charged a 31-year-old Ascot man over the alleged attack at a Roe Hwy off-ramp in Welshpool, Perth about 9am on Monday.
Police said a Toyota Corolla was travelling along the highway “when it was tailgated by a silver Ford Focus”.
“When both vehicles were stopped at the Roe Hwy off-ramp, police will allege the occupants of the Ford Focus approached the victim’s vehicle and smashed multiple windows with a pole, before assaulting the victim,” WA Police said.
The accused was charged with criminal damage, being armed in a way that may cause fear and assault occasioning bodily harm.
He will appear in Armadale Magistrates Court on Janua
