A stunning poppy curtain now takes centre stage in Bedworth town centre ahead of the town's proud Armistice parade and service. It can be seen from All Saints Church and contains a whopping 15,000 hand made poppies.
Members of the Bedworth Belles Women's Institute (WI) set themselves a mission to create the giant poppy curtain and they asked for the public for help to create 8,000 poppies. Much to their amazement, this target was smashed with a total of 15,000 being knitted and crocheted by not only locals in the town but further afield in Warwickshire .
The WI members also asked for the names of the area's unsung female war heroes, so that their names could be embroidered onto a special poppy on the curtain. Now, following the appeal, there is a special, large red felt poppy on th
