PEORIA, Ill. – Two businesses were affected by a fire Sunday night at a Peoria shopping center.
Peoria Fire says crews arrived just before 11:15 P.M. to Pioneer Square Shopping Center on University, finding smoke from the roof of the north side of the structure. The smoke was seen over Anarchy Ink and Mutual of Omaha.
Fire crews encountered heavy smoke upon entry through Anarchy Ink, and found fire in a void space between the drop ceiling and the roof, where an HVAC tied to an AC unit was found.
The fire was put out in about ten minutes after crews arrived.
A fire investigator determined the cause of the fire was electrical and unintentional. There were no injuries.
