The Premier store in Whitehills has been given the green light to keep its air conditioning units that neighbours claimed were disturbing their sleep.
The “state-of-the-art” Loch Street shop was built and opened in 2022 to replace the previous store just metres away.
Initial proposals stated there would be three large air source pumps installed on the roof.
But during the shop fit out, it needed to increase its fridge units from three to six and reduce its air source pumps from three to two.
Store owner Billy Gatt carried out these changes without seeking permission from Aberdeenshire Council first.
However after lodging a retrospective planning application for the work, two neighbours living nearby complained that the fans were making a “significant” sound.
