The man charged in a deadly shooting over homecoming weekend is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning at the Boone County Courthouse.
Misael Covarrubias, 23, is facing charges of second-degree murder, three counts of armed criminal action, two counts of first-degree assault and a single count of unlawful use of a weapon in the fatal September shooting of Stephens College student Aiyanna Willia ms.
Covarrubias was indict ed last month by a Boone County grand jury and is set to appear before a judge for the first time at 9 a.m. Monday.
The deadly shooting occurred between Ninth and Tenth streets on East Broadway in downtown Columbia. Police said the shooting also injured two other people , who have not been named.
