On Nov. 10, 1775, John Adams drafted a resolution creating the Continental Marines. This month, each state is celebrating the 250th anniversary of the marines. In North Carolina, Camp Lejeune celebrated early last week. The traditional cake-cutting included the youngest and oldest marines, and the ceremony featured 16 uniforms dating back to 1775.
