WASHINGTON — A cruise ship passenger who died aboard the Carnival Horizon cruise ship on Saturday has been identified by her family and local community as 18-year-old Anna Kepner of Titusville, Florida.

Kepner reportedly died Saturday while traveling on the cruise ship’s Caribbean voyage that departed from Miami. The ship returned to Port Miami as scheduled that morning.

Details surrounding her death have not been released.

ABC News, who confirmed the teen's identity with her family, shared that Kepner's family said they wanted her to be known for her generosity and spirit.

Temple Christian School in Titusville also shared tributes to Kepner on its Facebook page.

Carnival Cruise Line said it was working with the FBI Miami office to investigate the incident.
