An everyday part of driving could soon be banned across England in what would be a major adjustment for motorists.

The Government has been carrying out a review of whether to bring in a nationwide ban on pavement parking, with ministers stating they are in favour of a ban.

A decision has been promised soon.

While parking completely on and blocking the pavement is already advised against, millions of drivers prop their cars up on to them.

This is particularly the case on small and narrow streets where there is a lack of space.

Many motorists do this to ensure they are not blocking
