LUDINGTON, Michigan — First responders arrived at the scene of a plane crash in Ludington after an "iPhone crash detection" alert. Thankfully, no one was injured.
The pilot, a 61-year-old man from Washington, made a controlled landing on top of the Ludington Pump Storage Reservoir on South Lakeshore Drive on Saturday around 2:13 p.m.
The man and his passenger, an 83-year-old from Muskegon, were uninjured and no fuel leaks were reported.
The pair were flying from Fremont to Ludington between 2,700 feet and 3,500 feet when the plane's engine "seized," emergency crews say.
The pilot turned the aircraft into the wind and started descending.
