What if? That’s what some Auburn fans wondered a week ago after the football program fired Hugh Freeze and promoted DJ Durkin to interim head coach.

What if Durkin lights a fire under the entire roster? What if the offense discovers a pulse without a head coach and a quarterback who both froze under pressure? What if the defense keeps doing its job? What if the Tigers, under new management, beat a ranked Vanderbilt and a quality FCS team in Mercer and a ranked Alabama?
