Baby formula sold at popular retailers is under investigation after several babies became hospitalized with botulism.
There were 13 total cases in 10 states of infants being hospitalized with either suspected or confirmed botulism. The Centers for Disease Control describes botulism as " a rare but serious illness caused by a toxin that attacks the body's nerves."
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture said each of these cases reported using ByHeart-brand powdered infant formula.
ByHeart infant formula is sold at Walmart, Target and Whole Foods.
Two lots of formula have been recalled:
Lot #206VABP /251261P2
Lot #206VABP/251131P2
Both have a use-by date of December 1, 2026.
If you have these products, you should stop using them immediately.
