Moishe House Cleveland West Pod teamed up with the Mandel Jewish Center of Cleveland in Beachwood, B’nai Jeshurun Congregation in Pepper Pike and Jewish Vegan Life, a Florida-based nonprofit organization that works to help the Jewish vegan community with their plant-based lifestyle, to host a vegan Sukkot celebration called “Plant-Based Harvest” on Oct. 9.

The event incorporated a kosher plant-based meal with Jewish learning and spiritual ritual. Local leaders and community members opened “Plant-Based Harvest” with remarks before a presentation was given that drew links between Jewish texts and the modern reasoning for a vegan lifestyle, like health, climate improvement and tikkun olam, according to a news release.
