For the seventh consecutive year, the Maryland Department of Transportation is honoring all U.S. military veterans and active-duty members with free transit rides.
MTA officials say the free rides will be available across the agency’s Local Bus, Metro Subway, Light Rail, MARC Train and Mobility services.
“Veterans and service members are an important part of our community,” said Maryland Transit Administrator Holly Arnold. “Offering complimentary transit trips is one way we can show our appreciation and make it easier for them to get where they need to go on this special day.”
Service members will need to present one of three IDs to get the free ride, which includes:
– U.S. Department of Defense issued ID (Armed Forces/Uniformed Services/Military Retiree);
– U.S. Department of Veteran
