INDIANAPOLIS (WNDU) - Indiana Gov. Mike Braun announced today that partial Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will be issued to eligible Hoosiers.

According to the governor’s office, benefits will begin processing today and are expected to be available on qualifying EBT cards starting tomorrow.

The state says it is prepared to issue partial benefits due to federal funding restrictions and a U.S. Supreme Court stay.

Last Friday, the Supreme Court granted a request by President Trump to avoid paying full benefits during the ongoing federal government shutdown. Unlike some states, Indiana did not attempt to pay those full benefits, and so will not need to backtrack, according to our sister station WTHR .
