KINGSTON — The France-based private equity investment firm Ardian announced the sale of Frulact, including its facility in the west end of Kingston, to Italy-based investment firm Nexture.
About 130 people work at the Kingston facility, which opened in 2017 and is the Portuguese company become Canada’s largest fruit processing manufacturer.

The Kingston factory is Frulact’s Canadian headquarters and is one of the company’s 11 manufacturing facilities across North America, Europe and Africa. The company also has nine research and development locations and in total it employs 850 people.
Ardian bought Frulact in 2020.
