FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A traffic stop led police to the discovery of a large amount of cocaine last week that had been hidden underneath a dog cage in the back of a pickup truck.
According to a press release from the Fort Wayne Police Department, uniformed detectives with the narcotics division pulled over a Chevy Silverado with Florida plates for speeding on Thursday, November 6. A K-9 team called to the scene detected the possible presence of illegal drugs.
When the driver got out of the pickup, detectives spotted a handgun in plain view. In the bed of the truck there was a large dog inside a cage. Under the cage, police found a hidden compartment.
