EUGENE, Ore. – One of three involved drivers in a multi-vehicle west Eugene crash died of his injuries after being transported to an area hospital, according to the Oregon State Police.
OSP officials said they responded at 3:15 p.m. on Nov. 7 to a three-vehicle crash on Beltline Highway near milepost 0. A preliminary investigation determined that a westbound Honda Accord, driven by a 52-year-old Eugene man, braked suddenly and was struck from behind by a westbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 52-year-old Elmira man, state police said. Authorities said the collision caused the Chevrolet to enter the eastbound lane and strike an eastbound Dodge Stratus driven by 84-year-old Vincent George Canham of Eugene.
