SWEET HOME, Ore. - A structure fire erupted in the 1900 block of 19th Avenue on Sunday evening, prompting a swift response from the Sweet Home Fire District.

According to the Sweet Home Fire District, crews arrived at 7:34 p.m. to find heavy fire and smoke engulfing the building. Fortunately, a rapid search confirmed that the structure was unoccupied. Firefighters faced challenges due to the area's lack of hydrants. A second alarm called in additional support from neighboring agencies, including a Chief officer and ladder truck from Lebanon Fire District and a water tender from Brownsville Rural Fire Protection District.

In total, 16 firefighters and eight apparatus were involved in extinguishing the blaze, which was brought under control in about 30 minutes. Crews remained on the scene
