He’s off to a great start after picking up a goal and an assist in his home debut Sunday for a 3-2 win over the Listowel Cyclones at Chatham Memorial Arena. Article content Article content
The 17-year-old forward was reassigned by the Saginaw Spirit after scoring once in eight games during his sophomore OHL season.
“It was tough to hear at first, but … it was better than just sitting on the bench there or being out of the lineup there,” the Sarnia native said. “I think it’s best for me for right now. Hopefully, I can be back there soon.”
Maroons head coach and general manager Brennan Feasey reached out as soon as Najim became available. The Maroons and Spirit are affiliates, but Najim was allowed
