Bill Maher cheekily admitted that he would masturbate before taping his 1990s late-night talk show “Politically Incorrect.”

“They said that I masturbated before the show in the dressing room,” he recalled of a newsstand magazine headline that made light of his pre-show ritual on Monday’s episode of his “Club Random” podcast .

When actress Cheryl Hines questioned the headline, Maher, 69, candidly responded, “Because I did. Not often.”

The comedian continued, “Here’s the thing. This is the 90s. I mean, we taped every day, or three days a week. You know, it was an everyday show.”

“I was just like a wild person then, and I would be out at night,” adding that he would arrive on set “hung over.”
