The Maryland man accused of shooting and killing his wife inside their Fairland home has turned himself in to police, authorities announced Monday.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, 58-year-old Edwin Javier Aragon surrendered at the department’s 3rd District Station in Colesville around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 — two days after the fatal shooting.
Investigators say Aragon shot his wife, 54-year-old Sarahi Concepcion Aragon-Cruz, inside their home in the 3000 block of Memory Lane around 5:41 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6.
Officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel arrived to find Aragon-Cruz suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives quickly identified Aragon as the suspect and obtained a warrant charging him with first-degree murder and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony, police said.
Aragon was taken into custody without incident and is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
Police said the investigation remains active.
