LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Thomas Bergstresser, a 31-year-old man from Battle Creek, was arrested for assaulting a woman while the two were seated in the back of an Ingham County Sheriff's Office patrol car on Sunday.
The sheriff's office reports that deputies were sent to the area of Proctor Road and Carter Road in White Oak Township at around 1:00 a.m. for a single-vehicle rollover crash. The three people inside the vehicle were not injured.
Law enforcement allowed the three to sit in the back of a patrol car due to cold weather.
Bergstresser was let out of the patrol car so he could look for his phone. The sheriff's office reports that when he returned, he was upset because he was unable to find his phone and pounded his fists on the rear seat partition.
