BURLINGTON, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - “Odds are good that Vermonters in the past faced the same or similar challenges as Vermonters today,” says VT Folklife archivist Andy Kolovos.

Vermont Folklife thinks that the best way to solve tomorrow's problems is to keep records of people's unique wisdom and experiences.

The participants in the first year of its Community Fellows Program include Paul Kramer, a teacher at Harwood Union High School who's interviewed locals in the Mad River Valley on the changes they've seen over the past 25 years, and how they see their region as it progresses into the future.

The program provides funding and training to Vermonters so that they can interview people in their community, research local history and document what they find, before giving a public presentatio
