A Killeen man is going on trial this week after being accused of shooting a woman at a residence in the 100 block of South Twin Creek Drive in 2020.
Cory Jermaine Johnson, 27, was indicted by a Bell County grand jury on March 25, 2020, on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a family member.
“Jury selection has begun in State v. Cory Johnson,” according to First Assistant District Attorney Erica Morgan in an email on Monday morning.
The trial is taking place in the 264th Judicial District Court.
Johnson posted a bond of $200,000, on May 5, 2022, and was released from the Bell County Jail.
Killeen police on Feb. 3, 2020, were dispatched to the residence in reference to a gunshot victim. The woman was transported by air ambulance to a hospital
