American fast-food fans, rejoice: the McRib is making its highly anticipated return to McDonald’s menus nationwide for a limited time starting on Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11.

The beloved sandwich, which features a boneless pork patty slathered in barbecue sauce and topped with slivered onions and pickles on a toasted bun, has become one of McDonald’s most iconic limited-time offerings.

First introduced in 1981, the McRib has maintained a cult following despite being removed as a permanent menu item in 2005.

McDonald’s Senior Marketing Director Guillaume Huin announced the return on social media, saying: “The legendary McRib returns 11/11 at most McDonald's in the US. It is our most-mentioned limited-time product online, higher than other evergreen items, particularly on X.”

Not all McDonald's locations will carry the McRib this season, as availability varies by region, but it is expected to appear in most restaurants across the US. The McRib typically stays on menus for about 10 weeks before disappearing once again.

Interestingly, the McRib has found a niche following in internet culture, particularly among cryptocurrency and trading enthusiasts.

Huin noted that some in the crypto community claim Bitcoin and the S&P 500 tend to perform well following the McRib’s return, citing notable years like 2017, 2020, and 2021. Coincidentally, Bitcoin hit an all-time high when the McRib returned in December 2024.

Fans eager to grab the sandwich should act quickly before it vanishes again. As McDonald's teased, "Welcome back, Legend!"
