STUART, Va. (WDBJ) - The lack of rural healthcare options remains a problem in our hometowns.
Patrick County is one of the hardest-hit areas, where EMS say they often have to travel two hours to either Roanoke or North Carolina, tying up an ambulance for 4 hours. Now the county is losing another medical resource. It was announced on Friday that Patrick Urgent Care will be closing permanently on November 14.
Once it permanently closes, it’s going to leave Patrick County residents with few options to get immediate medical assistance in the area for the next few months.
