OMAHA, Neb. —
It looked like it could have been a page out the history book for the old Union Station in 1980.
Inside, onlookers young and old watched and waited for the train to come around the bend, but the trains they were looking for were models.
The train show was testing a new concept, which could have made the model railroads portable.
"This is something entirely new for Omaha. This is a model railroad layout which is made up of separate small modules. Most of the straight ones are two feet wide and six feet long. We come together and we put them together because they're all made with the same specifications and we can run one big layout of model railroads.
