JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE: The missing 9-year-old was found safe just before 7 p.m., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. An agency spokesperson said he was spotted walking home by officers and returned safely to his family.

The boy was last seen leaving his home on West 26th Street, near Moncrief Road, according to the sheriff's office.

Due to his age, JSO is concerned for his safety.

He is described as being 4'11" and 95 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing white shorts with black shoes and a black shirt.
