A motorcyclist has died after a traffic collision involving a vehicle in the 600 block of East Boone Street on Sunday morning, according to Santa Maria Police.

On Nov. 9, at approximately 10:58 a.m., the SMPD, along with the Santa Maria Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

Officers located the motorcyclist lying in the roadway. Emergency personnel immediately began life-saving measures. The rider was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment but later died.

The motorcyclist has been identified as a 30-year-old Santa Maria man. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
