LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The federal government shutdown is rippling through air travel, with thousands of flights canceled nationwide and growing disruptions at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.
By midday Monday, seven departing flights from SDF were canceled. The Federal Aviation Administration is directing airlines to reduce schedules at major airports because of a shortage of air traffic controllers, leaving many travelers bracing for delays and last‑minute changes.
“There’s no way of knowing what’s going to be canceled. You go and wait until you can get to go home,” said Amy Reames.
Some passengers tried to get ahead of the disruptions.
“I try my best to get the earliest flight I can, in case there are delays,” said Ben Kendra.
Others arrived extra early to navigate potent
