GADSDEN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - City leaders in Gadsden are reminding you to take some time and remove any debris and leaves blocking storm drains.

When leaves pile up in the drains it leads to flooding and clogged pipes.

Neighbors in Gadsden say it seems like the more leaves they rake, the more seem to fall from the trees, but they know it’s important to clean them up.

“I rake mine every year once they fall and put them in a pile and let the city come by and get them,” said Amber Harper.

That’s what the City of Gadsden would like to see more of when it comes to leaves - putting them in piles to help city crews collect them faster.
