JACKSON, Mo. (KFVS) - The Cape Girardeau County Courthouse watches over uptown Jackson as it has for decades.
A faithful toll that sounds the same as it has since 1871, but the clock tower holds a secret.
Travel up dozens of steps, and unseen to the outside world, a work of art continues the thankless job of time.
And that is where Sean Barnes and his wife Nancy come in, because without the Barnes’, this antique masterpiece would go silent.
“A lot of it is the history of them--we research every one of those that we do,” Sean said. “So we know the history before we even go into it. That is always fascinating.”
Before Sean and Nancy enter the inner workings of a tower clock, they do a lot of the labor in their shop in Cape Girardeau County.
