SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Sioux City’s City Council has deferred a vote on the second reading of a zoning change for land in the Leeds neighborhood.
The landowner approached the city council Monday night and asked for a one-week delay.
The rezoning of 30 acres of land off of Jefferson Street passed the first reading on November 3rd by a 3-to-2 vote . If the second and third readings pass, the zoning for the land would change from “General Commercial” to “General Industrial”.
However, Monday, the landowner, Dolf Ivener, asked the city council to defer the vote on the second reading to next week. At the meeting, Ivener said he may have other options for the land and would like another week to work on it.
