SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - City leaders called for another public safety meeting Monday, Nov. 10 following a series of violent fights in the downtown area.
Shreveport police and city officials are working together to bring in more security measures after the recent downtown incidents. The Shreveport City Council invited SPD to share their security approaches during a public safety meeting.
SPD deployed patrol teams on foot, bikes and horseback downtown over the past weekend, reporting a major difference compared to Halloween weekend.
“This past weekend we did have a few more officers on the street, and they were being very active, as well as I think the public was more informed of the presence of law enforcement in the area, and it resulted in good behavior on all parts,” an SPD represent
