THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - Traffic on Smith Avenue between Hansell Street and Cherokee Street is being blocked as of about 10:30 p.m. on Monday due to a nearby fire, according to the Thomasville Police Department.

TPD said the fire was extinguished, but encouraged people to avoid the area as fire trucks travel through.

Emergency vehicles were seen flocking to the area late Monday as law enforcement set up traffic blockades.

It is unclear where exactly the fire happened, and if anyone was injured. WCTV is working to learn more.
