FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears fell to the Arkansas Razorbacks women’s basketball team in an overtime thriller 89-77 on Monday night.
Arkansas led at the end of the first quarter 22-18 before relinquishing the lead and going into the half down 41-37.
The Sugar Bears entered the fourth quarter up 61-57 but the Hogs cut the margin down to three when a Bonnie Deas three-pointer made the score 74-71. An Emily Robinson three-pointer for the Hogs tied the game up at 74 and sent it to overtime.
Maria Anais Rodriguez gave the Hogs a five-point lead with a three pointer to put Arkansas up 80-75 and Harmonie Ware added a pair of free throws at the end to seal the 87-77 victory.
The last time Central Arkansas beat a power four team was in 2017 and Monday’s twelve-point loss
