Three people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a far-reaching scam along South Australia's Eyre Peninsula.
SA Police allege a 33-year-old man, 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were involved in a series of crimes at various places along the Eyre Peninsula, including at Streaky Bay, Port Kenny and Tumby Bay.
Police said the 32-year-old man from Romania was arrested on Sunday after they stopped his Isuzu station wagon along the Eyre Highway following reports he had been asking motorists for cash for fuel in exchange for gold jewellery.
A search of his car allegedly uncovered a large amount of cash.
The man was arrested and charged with deception and unlawful possession, relating to an alleged incident at Keith, in the state's south-east, earlier this year.
