Throughout this offseason, Miami Heat star Andrew Wiggins found himself at the center of trade rumors. Yet, as the offseason concluded, Wiggins stayed committed to the Heat and hit the ground running when the season began.

On Monday, the Heat showcased just how vital Wiggins has become. He finished the game with a spectacular lob-pass dunk at the buzzer that secured a thrilling victory for Miami.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra’s play design, called the “Elevator Door EOG,” used deception and timing to perfection. One screener acted as a decoy while the second set a critical screen that freed Wiggins for a wide-open lob dunk. The dunk resulted in a 140-138 win for the Heat in overtime.

After the game, Wiggins elaborated on his decisive dunk in overtime.
