CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A Downtown murder suspect and eight other convicted felons now face federal gun charges, court records show.
Robert Shaw, 50, is accused of opening fire outside a bar on Sycamore Street and shooting 34-year-old Justin Johnson several times in a car last month.
It came just days after an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old were shot a few blocks away on Fountain Square in the heart of Downtown, the second one on the square in a week.
The federal charges are all part of a multi-agency crackdown on Cincinnati gun violence, according to the region’s top federal prosecutor, U.S. Attorney Dominick Gerace III.
“My office is paying close attention to the gun violence occurring on the streets of Cincinnati,” he said Monday.
